WordPress FAQs

Here are a few of the most common questions we are asked about our WordPress support and maintenance services. If you don't see the answer to your please feel free to ping over a contact form and one of our team will do their best to answer it for you.

How much does this cost?

We start from as little as £100/month and tailor each plan to your requirements.

How do we communicate once the plan is started?

We use a project management tool to identify the monthly actions and then share this with you. We can review results with you via skype or face-to-face, whatever you prefer.

What will you need from me?

Access to the admin area and hosting of your website. Mostly we work in the admin part but it may be necessary for us to access your hosting account for technical reasons. We may also suggest a move of hosting once we have assessed your current set-up.

What if I don’t like a blog post?

All content is approved by you before we post it (unless you tell us different) and we will happily edit anything you would like changing.

What if I don’t want to manage the website at all. Can you do it all for me?

Yes, as long as we can agree on some targets and you are happy with our content style, then we can take over the whole process. We think it works better however if one of your team is engaged in the process.

Can I still access my own website?

Yes, you remain a full admin and owner of the website and all its contents. Many clients add their own content alongside the elements we are working on.

Can you add new pages to my website?

Yes, if you have signed up for one of our content management packages we include creating new pages as part of that.

Do I need to write my own content?

Not unless you want to. Generally we agree on a series of topics and then we write the content and you edit and approve it. With technical products we may ask for some product details from you so we can write about the item.

I know my company better than anyone, how can you write text for my website?

You would be surprised. We’ve been doing this for a long time and have written about hundreds of different subjects. Plus we’re trying to make your copy easily understood by any potential customer and need to highlight the benefits, not get bogged down in industry jargon unless it’s appropriate.

Can you help me with making my website mobile friendly?

Yes, we would be happy to quote you for this. It’s incredibly important.

How long does it take to be on the first page of google?

Unlike the spammers, we can’t answer that question. It depends totally on the keyphrase you are targeting and hundreds of other factors. Generally we expect to see improvements for all keywords after the first 3 months but until we’ve looked at where you are and where you want to get to, it would be silly to try and guess.

Can you start up social media channels for us?

Yes we can include social media marketing plans as part of this work and will advise which ones we recommend for your business.

Is the data of my website safe at your place?

We don’t store any data on our own systems other than the admin login details that you have provided for us. We will advise on any compliance issues we feel there are on your website.

Can I do the SEO myself?

Yes , we run training for anyone who wants to learn how to manage their own SEO work.

What do you charge for SEO?

This is part of our top package and depends very much on your goals. Once we understand these we can quote a package price.

Why is SEO important for my website?

What’s the point of having a website if no one can find it? SEO is the main tool for making your website visible on search engines.
